restaurantTake advantage of the vibrant restaurant scene in picturesque Boothbay Harbor before or after your stay at the Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse.

Boothbay Harbor’s restaurant cuisine ranges from traditional seafood favorites to dishes conceived to feature local ingredients. There is a restaurant to suit any palate, and you may find it challenging to narrow your choices.

The Spruce Point Inn and The Thistle Inn are two of the Boothbay area’s nicest destination restaurants.

The Spruce Point Inn’s 88 is recognized as a top restaurant on the Maine Coast. The inn offers a quintessential Maine dining experience by using locally fished, farmed and harvested ingredients, including herbs from its own garden. You will taste the freshness of Aroostook beets, lavender-honey chevre from Tourmaline Hill Farm and cheese from the State of Maine Cheese Company. Reservations are required ( 207-633-4152).

The Thistle Inn combines fine cuisine, casual fare and the classic atmosphere of Midcoast Maine. Located at the entrance of Boothbay Harbor in a circa 1861 former sea captain’s home, the inn has been welcoming guests since 1960. Its cuisine is a mix of classic American lightly spiced with international flavors. The seasonal availability of local produce and seafood inspire the menu. From season to season, you will find local Damariscotta oysters on the half shell, fresh tuna sashimi, rack of lamb, or seared diver scallops with lobster risotto. Reservations are recommended ( 207-633-3541).

For a casual taste of the Boothbay area, make sure to pay a call on the popular Boothbay Farmers Market, open 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays between May and early October. Farmers and vendors from around the area gather to sell their Maine-made specialties. While you’re browsing the market, pick up some fresh fruit for a snack or souvenirs from local craftspeople.

There are many local restaurants to discover on your visit to Boothbay Harbor, and we are happy to recommend our favorites.
